DIY: How To Clear Your Sinuses in Seconds Using Nothing but Your Fingers
There is nothing so annoying as stuffy nose and swollen sinuses.
Even the easiest colds or allergies can cause a reaction in the sinuses, and the first thing we do normally, we start using medications.
However, it is sometimes wise to keep the meds on hold and turn to a more natural method of treating this problem. It’ll be amazing to learn that only your fingertips can help you deal with stuffed sinuses, and very quickly too.
The trick is in the finger stimulation onto a certain spot.
Technique #1: Use Your Tongue & Press Between Eyebrows
One Reddit user, known as gymfork shows that acupressure can be truly effective for unclogging the nose and dealing with other sinus-related problems.
The point that requires stimulation is found in the oral cavity. Push tongue flat against to the roof of the mouth, and push a finger against the skin between your eyebrows at exactly the same time.
Put pressure for 20 seconds, and release. Once you finished, you will feel the mucus moving through the throat, this means the trick worked.
As another option, you can press tongue against the roof of the mouth area while pressing between of your eyebrows simultaneously.
The in-between eyebrow location is named Yintang acupoint, and Dr. Joseph M. Helms, president of Helms Medical Institute and writer of Acupuncture Energetics: A Clinical Approach for Physicians explains this best.
Technique #2: Apply Pressure Across Your Eyebrows
This technique is most effective for upper sinuses as well as for stuffy nose.
Amber Lynn Vitale, a massage therapist says that by only moving fingers across eyebrows you can get relief.
Rest head on elbows and place fingers on each eyebrow beginning, where they don’t meet. Lean forwards so when the pressure shifts, glide fingers to the middle of each eyebrow.
Release fingers when you are feeling relief, and glide fingers to the ends of every eyebrow. As Vitale clarifies, here you should keep strong pressure or move fingertips in circles. This stimulates the fluid to go away from the nasal and sinuses.
Trick #3: Take a Second for a Mini-Massage
Another massage therapist, Heather Wibbels offers another option how you can get rid of mucus inside the nose and sinuses. All you need are a few quick rubs.
In case you will find this unpleasant, you can try something else. Cross hands to form a V and by using same rubbing motion on both sides of your neck. This will release the lymph fluid. Both techniques vacuum the fluid stuck in your sinuses and move it away from the head.
MAINTAIN YOUR Sinuses Active!
Don’t treat your sinuses with meds, use the pressure instead. By hitting the right spots with both your thumbs and fingers, you’ll get rid of troubling fluid and clear the sinuses and nose effectively.
