Shock Finding: More than 75 Percent of all ‘Honey’ Sold in Grocery Stores Contains no Honey at all, by definition
According to the Food Safety News, the results from the comprehensive investigation has showed that more than 80% of the honey sold in U.S. grocery stores, big box stores, drug stores, and restaurants, isn’t exactly a bee product, and that the pollen has been frequently filtered out of the products labeled“honey“. I.e. they have been heated to a great extent, forced through extremely tiny filters and then watered down or rendered with poorer quality by adding another substance before to hitting store shelves.
Despite the statements of The US Food and Administration (FDA), that the honey products have been filtered out and that are not actually honey, still the agency didn’t do anything to prevent it.
According to the FDA’s definition:
„In the U.S., the Food and Drug Administration says that any product that’s been ultra-filtered and no longer contains pollen isn’t honey. However, the FDA isn’t checking honey sold here to see if it contains pollen“.
Food Safety News has started an investigation after hearing that there are unidentified honeys sold in US grocery stores. The 60 different containers of honey they have purchased from 10 different states, bought from different supermarkets were sent to premier melissopalynologist and professor atTexas A&M University, Vaughn Bryant. He discovered that approximately 80% of the honey didn’t contain pollen, which makes it unidentifiable and not safe. Of that average, he discovered that:
100 percent of Winnie the Pooh sold in Walmart stores had no pollen.
- 100 percent of honey from individual packets from KFC and McDonald’s had all pollen removed.
- 77 percent of honey from big box stores like Costco, Sam’s Club, and Target had no traced of pollen.
- 100 percent of honey from drugstores like Walgreen’s and CVS Pharmacy had all the pollen filtered out.
- He did find out that each sample of honey purchased from co-ops, farmers markets and stores like Trader Joes contained the full amount of original pollen.
Ultra-filtered honey is as healthy-destroying as the processed sugar, white sugar or high fructose corn syrup. The numerous beneficial nutrients the honey contains have been destroyed when the honey is heated to great temperature. The good enzymes and vitamins that honey contains have been destroyed when the honey is being processed with excessive heat. And that it is not an actual honey.
The real, organic and raw honey contains about 20 vitamins, 18 amino acids, 16 minerals, and plenty of antioxidants and phytonutrients. Raw honey is antibacterial, antiviral, and antifungal substance, extremely nutritious, rich in high amounts of B2, B3, B5, B6, C, magnesium, potassium, calcium, sodium chlorine, sulphur, and phosphate.
In order to protect your and your family’s health is to always purchase local honey from some local producers or Certified Organic honey.
